How do I get started?
First things first. You need to create an account so that you can log in. Create your account in these two simple steps:
Enter a username into the lower form on the login page
Change your password from being identical to your username to something more secure
That's all there is to creating an account. Please keep in mind that your chosen login must not already exist, and it must not include spaces.
Once you have an account, your profile could probably use some attention. As well as being taken directly to your Profile page on your first login, you can also get there by clicking the Profile icon (  ) in the navigation area at the top left hand side of each page. Again, you will see a warning message to change your password, if you haven't already done so. The default password is the same as your username—this is clearly not sufficient for your protection.
Your profile includes:
Your screen name
Your confidential password
Your given and family names
The date you joined
When you were last seen on the site
Your game playing record
Your self-determined skill level
A notification preference
Your confidential email
Several of these fields are for you to fill (or not), as you see fit.
On the left hand side of the Profile page are two additional features, a list of the teams you have joined and the messages you have received. At the outset these two boxes will not show because you haven't joined any teams or received messages. But over time, the Messages box in particular will become increasingly important.

The New Account form is on the Login page. There is only one field in the New Account form.

If your chosen username is already taken you will see a message like this one. You will also see this message if your username includes spaces.

Your first action when you first log in should be to change your password from the default. The default password is the same as your username.

The My Teams and My Messages boxes are not visible until there is something for them to show. When they appear you will see them on your Profile page on middle right hand side of the page, below the navigation area.
