If there are up to 34 players participating in a game, how do I know when it is my turn?
There are two main indicators that tell you when it is your turn to move. Both of them are in the band of controls above the playing board.
The most important indicator is the Turn Update control. The Turn Update box is on the far left of the controls band at the top of the screen. This control is updated every five seconds with five key pieces of information:
If you can move, and, if you can, which of your piece to play
The current player
The round that is being played
How much time remains in the current player's turn
The Maximum time before your next turn
It is important to remember that no turns are of a fixed duration. I.e. if a player completes his or her turn before the turn times out, the next player's turn starts immediately. This means that the last item on the list above is very much an outside estimate of when your next turn could be. When games allow turns that may be hours long it becomes more likely that this number could be much longer then the actual time before your next move.
The second way to keep track of player's turns is to keep an eye on the Turns List control. The Turns List is positioned on the far right hand side of the controls strip above the playing board.
What you see in the Turns List is:
The order of the players' turns
The current player highlighted in a brighter shade of blue
All the pieces that are not skipped highlighted in a darker shade of blue
The skipped pieces in slate gray
Your pieces outlined with a thin black border
Players are listed in two rows (the Red team on the top) in accordance with the cycle of pieces on the board. I.e. the top player first, followed by Queen Rook Red, Queen Knight Red, Queen Bishop Red, etc., and ending with King Rook Pawn Red. However, the piece names are not given. Instead the players' screen names are shown, or the pseudo screen name anonymous. That said, you can see the piece names for any piece that is actively being played. The name of the piece will pop up on a label when you hover the mouse over a given screen name.
Keep in mind that unlike the Turn Update control, the Turns List does not refresh automatically at this time. To update the Turns List you have to reload the page.
