There is always something new coming down the pike. This page gives previews and highlights of new features.
Now MetaTeam can generate a complete management-ready team charter in PDF or HTML (suitable for editing in Microsoft Word). Here is a simple sample charter generated 100% by MetaTeam.
To see this feature in action open your team and click on the Charter tab. At the top right hand side you will see two new icons beside the Help icon.
Clicking the familiar Acrobat icon generates a charter in PDF form. Beside the Acrobat icon is an icon reminiscent of the Microsoft Word icon. Clicking this icon generates an HTML version of the charter that can be saved, then opened and edited with Word.
When you go to the starting page (your My Teams page) you will see a new icon on the left hand side. Click the icon and up pops a tree view of the team you selected. You will see team members, groups and projects. For each of these you can drill down to see the next level or click to navigate to the details page.
The notes tab that was part of each person's profile has been moved up a level. You will see that the Individual Details tab now reads Details and there is a Notes tab beside it. On the Notes tab you will find Notes For Me and My Notes. Notes For Me is where notes by and about the person are kept. As before, if you add a private note to a person's profile that note is for your eyes only.
The My Notes tab is a listing of all the notes made by the person you are looking at. For each note you will see the grouping (Decision, Goal, etc.) and the type. As usual, privacy is respected.
Increasing communication between team members is one of MetaTeam's core goals. You asked for easier access to team members' contact information from the main team page. We heard you.
To give you fast access to your colleagues information we added popup details to the Members tab. Now when you mouse over the Contact Info column for any team member you will see their details in a hover box.
The membership of large teams and teams that last a long time usually changes. Each time a team member leaves the team some of the teams knowledge and history goes with them. With MetaTeam you have a chance to collect that history and learning to keep the team performance strong as new team members come into the fold.
We added a Past Members tab to the Members area. Those of you using the commercial version of MetaTeam will see the Past Members list at the bottom of the Members tab. Each time you remove a team member from the current membership you will see their name appear on the Past Members list. This way you can easily get in contact with the individuals who have move on to different work.
At this time the Past Members list is not available in the free version of MetaTeam.
We expanded the Roles tab to include notes on roles. Adding information about a role lets your teammates know what that role is intended to do, its background, deliverables and other important information.
With this reorganization of the Roles tab, you now see the roles listed without a lot of detail.
Clicking on a role name opens that role to its three areas:
Notes are simply statements about a given role. As with other statements and notes, you can add a type that indicates what the note in reference to.
